I made this card a while back for my sis-in-law's birthday - it was my first time using my nestabilities, which I totally love and need to use more often. The stamp is from The Cats Pajamas - Lighting Cupcake. I love those cute little penguins!!!! You'll definitely see them again :-)

Sympathy Card

I wanted to make something fairly simple and elegant with these cards.

Made a couple of Mother's Day Cards.  These are both in the same theme of using black flowers on a color background.  I like the crisp look this gives.

Birthday Card with Sewing

I sewed around the edges of the three panels - very fun!  The flower is from SU!, and the sentiment from PTI - Out of the Box Sentiments.

Two More Valentines

I have two more valentines cards for you today. This first one is fairly simple. I think red, white, and gray make a great classic valentine combo :-)

Card Details:

This second card uses a fun little technique thatI haven't used before. I used my Scorpal to score three little lines near the bottom, just above the sentiment. It's a little hard to see in the picture, but I liked the way it turned out.

Apricot is for Girls!

So I originally made this card for a male friend of ours, but my husband informs me that "apricot" is not a male color. I, however, love this color combination - Apricot Appeal and Real Red from Stampin' Up. This card will therefore be going to some other lucky person :-) The stamps are from the Papertrey - Out of the Box set. I'm relatively new to Papertrey stamps, and I really like them! This particular set has so many different images that work together really well. The sentiments just seem to fit right in - it's almost like they planned it that way! ;-)

I'm also trying to make the insides of my cards more interesting so I stamped the present a few times along the bottom. In the picture you can also see the gift tag I've included with the card.

Stamps: Out of the Box - PTI
Paper: SU Apricot Appeal, Real Red, Whisper White
Tools: scallop punch from SU

Olive You!

Hello out there! I just love everything punny, so when I saw this set from SU, I knew it was for me! I really like paper piercing, but I always seem to forget about it when I put the card together. I like how it puts just the right finishing touch on the card. I stamped the olive image again in a couple of circle punches for the inside.

Stamps: Olive You - SU
Paper: SU Old Olive, Whisper White, Old Olive DP

No Stamping Valentine

I made this card based on the Saturday sketch challenge here - mytimess20. This is my first challenge, and it was really fun. I definitely deviated from the sketch, but I love how this turned out!

There isn't any stamping on the outside of the card, although I did stamp "forever" on the inside from the SU set, "Wonderful Words II". It's a little hard to tell in the picture, but the square of patterned paper in the center is all embossed. It was actually pat of a sample wedding invitation, and came that way!

Card Details:

Stamps: Wonderful Words II - SU
Paper: SU Kraft, Soft Sky DP, Wedding invite
Accessories: SU Linen thread, SU clear buttons, red buttons
Tools: Heart die from Cuttlebug

Congratulations Baby!

One of my friends recently found you she was pregnant, so I made this card for her.

I used the triangle pocket card idea that came from a tutorial on Splitcoast here. I didn't follow the tutorial because I couldn't find it at the time, but I wish I had! Mine took way more measuring and time than I had hoped! I really like the results though, and I hope that she liked it!

The inside has a little card that slips in that says Congratulations, as well as another giraffe. When you flip it over, there's a piece of vanilla cardstock to write your note on, and the corners are stamped to match the patterned paper from the outside pocket.

Card Details:
Stamps: Wild About You, Warmest Regards - SU
Paper: SU vanilla, Wild Wasabi, Apricot Apeal, DP from spring '08 mini
Accessories: twill tape SU
Tools: tag punch, 1 3/4 circle punch, scallop circle punch, oval Coluzzle

Balloons and Dots!

Hello all!!

I absolutely loooove how this card turned out :-) It seemed like it was going to be a bit plane - I'm not used to using white as my card base - but I love the way it came together.

The balloons are embossed in black and colored with SU! markers to match the polka dots in the designer paper. Hope you like!

Supplies:
Stamps: SU Birthday Best and Short and Sweet
Paper: SU Whisper white, Ballet Blue, assorted patterned paper
Other: SU word punch, SU black embossing powder

Birthday Thank Yous

I made these cards as birthday thank you notes for a co-worker of mine. He had thrown a surprise party for his wife, and knew that she would want to send out thank you's to the guests - how cool is that!

I stamped the present image in the same color ink as the main card, and then colored them with the coordinating color to bring out the presents. Even though I like how all of these turned out, I particularly like the Ruby Red version here, because it's a color combo I haven't tried before. Plus I really liked how the coloring turned out. I used a blender pen with the Groovy Guava Ink from Stampin' Up for a fun water-coloring effect.

Here is the sentiment inside the card, using the "thank you" from the Short and Sweet set from SU. Once I change the sentiment, it would be great for a regular birthday card as well!

Supplies:
Stamps: Something to Celebrate (SU, retired 2006), Short and Sweet (Inside sentiment)
Paper: SU Ruby Red, Groovy Guava, Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum, Ballet Blue, Certainly Celery, and assorted DP from Michaels.
Ink: SU Ruby Red, Elegant Eggplant, Ballet Blue classic ink, and SU markers in Pale Plum and Green Galore
Other: Ticket punch from SU, blender pen

Swirly Birthday

This is a simple but really fun birthday card I made to have on hand. I love the texture you get from the embossed swirls. I used red and blue here because I wanted something that would work for both guys and gals, but I think it would look great in other colors as well.

Here's the inside of the card:
