This card was fun because it's my first use of the Papertrey Guidelines II set for what I intended it for - making my own patterned paper!

See all those pink swirly images in the bottom layer? Those are all individually stamped. It took awhile, but I made almost a half sheet of this paper, so you might see it again soon :-)

The heart stamp is one from when I was little - it's probably the first time it's shown up on a card...Yes I save things that long!

It's a little hard to see, but there is stitching along the edge of the first layer as well.

This card started with the kraft curly label down in the left corner. The button, bow and heart came next, and then it sat on my desk for the next week and a half.

It was cute as a little embellishment but I wasn't sure what to do with it - it wasn't quite right. I know I wanted a sentiment, but none seemed to be the right size.

And then inspiration hit in the middle of the night - it needed a border. And so the faux stitching was added and "be mine" became the perfect hit. I have always like how Heather Nichols adds the sponged white ink on her cards, so I gave that a try as well.

Hopefully you like the result - it's sort-of a new technique for me.

Guest Artist

Today I have two cards made by my SD - Kyra.  She has a fantastic eye for design and creates amazing layouts!  Plus, she's super fast.  It takes me like an hour to make a card because I hem and haw - she's a natural :-)

Don't you just love how she did the ribbon around the heart like that!

On this one she made her own patterned paper with a circle stamp - just stamped a few times after one inking.

lots of hearts! A long time ago I bought a big stack of patterned paper that I never seem to know what to do with. This one is fun because the hearts have so many different patterns that it made sense to pair them with some more patterns :-)

I love this stamp set from SU - "Live Your Dream" but I've never used it until now! I used SU markers to color the flowers and popped the image and sentiment up on a few dimensionals. I hope you like!

Stocking Prints

This card uses the Stocking Prints set from PTI. Each of the stocking bodies and tops are stamped separately so you can mix and match to your heart's desire :-) I added the "Happy Holidays" sentiment and some buttons for texture. I also made a green version of the same card.

Button Ornaments!

I've been wanting to make a card with buttons for ornaments for a while now, so here it finally is! And this was the very first Christmas card I sold this year :-D

Stationary Sets

Stationary sets make great little gives for the women in your life. We all need to have note cards on hand for a quick thank you or note to a friend. Each set has 5 stamped notecards with matching envelopes. The stamps are from PTI's

"Guidelines Two" stamp set. I made four sets, each with different stamps and colors.

Baby Card!

Usually when I make cards I start off with an idea in my head for the layout, but it never ends up the way I originally imagine it.

This one originally what going to have green and blue on the elephant, and no big blue circles behind. I'll have to work on getting the paper to do what I see in my head :-)

Penguins

I made this card a while back for my sis-in-law's birthday - it was my first time using my nestabilities, which I totally love and need to use more often. The stamp is from The Cats Pajamas - Lighting Cupcake. I love those cute little penguins!!!! You'll definitely see them again :-)

Sympathy Card

I wanted to make something fairly simple and elegant with these cards.

Made a couple of Mother's Day Cards.  These are both in the same theme of using black flowers on a color background.  I like the crisp look this gives.

Birthday Card with Sewing

I sewed around the edges of the three panels - very fun!  The flower is from SU!, and the sentiment from PTI - Out of the Box Sentiments.

Two More Valentines

I have two more valentines cards for you today. This first one is fairly simple. I think red, white, and gray make a great classic valentine combo :-)

This second card uses a fun little technique thatI haven't used before. I used my Scorpal to score three little lines near the bottom, just above the sentiment. It's a little hard to see in the picture, but I liked the way it turned out.
